  • How do you organize your folders

So I am not looking for a table of contents but I am trying to get a feel for how people organize their content for the folder of evidence. Do you break it down into different folders and carry all in or do you have one large folder which is separated by tags ?

Also what are your recommendations on the type of folders we should use ? Do you use something like this - https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...filing+folders or something like this one - https://www.amazon.com/Expanding-Mul...+folders&psc=1 or a combination of both.

Those who have gone through interviews , if you have photographs that you can share, that would be much appreciated. I am pretty happy with my table of contents so far but I am flummoxed as to how I can carry it all together (right now i am thinking of 9 different exhibit folders which seems rather inefficient)

Also, I wonder if we suppose to leave all of the evidences we bring to the interview for interviewers or we take it back home with us when the interview is done.

Unfortunately, with all the stress of the prep work, I did not take a photo. But our folders resembled the ones in the second link you posted.

We had 2 folders for a total of 9 exhibit/evidence topics. I divided each exhibit with a colored tab, wrote the exhibit number and topic, for example "Exhibit 1: Evidence of financial commingling", on front of each of the blank tab divider. And then, within each exhibit/evidence topic, I used little colored post it notes (the narrow ones), to make it for an easy flip-through for the IO. So for example, if I had evidence 1A (lease agreement) and 1B (joint utility bills), then I wrote 1A on the colored post it and placed it on the top right edge of the lease agreement copy, and the same, wrote 1B on another post it and placed it on the top right edge of the copy of the utility bills, at a slightly lower position than 1A.

I tried to place all post its so that they are all visible - similar to how the folders are attached in the second link you posted, from top to bottom.

This way, I filled two folders. It was not very thick, but it was neatly organized. The officer ended up taking one folder and gave us back the other.

I hope this helps, even if little bit. Good luck!
