You can check the processing time for your field office on the USCIS website. Field office is assigned based on zipcode. Regardless if the processing time is long or sort, at least knowing the processing time will take away some of the uncertainty and make the wait somewhat easier.

We filed in early Sep of 2017 and didn't have our interview until Dec of 2018. The process is long. You have your EAD card so that's the important part. Just make sure to renew it before it expires. This is very important. You will receive a letter of confirmation by mail, and you will use that paired with your EAD card to prove you can continue to work past the due date on your card. Right now they are automatically extending it 6 months.

      Best of luck!

thank you for the info, this gives me a better idea of my timeline. I haven't even gotten the notice that says "case is ready to be schedule for interview" yet, so its a waiting game for me.

You do not receive a notice for the status change Ready to be Scheduled for Interview. You will be able to see this on your online accounts once the USCIS makes the update on your case.

The 10 to 22 month range supposedly indicate that about 50% of cases are processed after 10 months and all applications should be processed in no longer than 22 months. If you pass the 22 month mark your case is outside of normal processing time and you can raise a service request to have them complete your case.

These are guidelines and every case can be different, but you should anticipate about 10 months waiting time if you filed correctly, no RFE or RFIE is required and no issues are found by the field office in the process or during the interview.

              thank you for sharing!!

Oh, man! The overall wait is shorter, but it takes longer for them to work on our processes. We never win. haha
I had to refile my I-485 because they never received the payment (??), but the new receipt says that the priority date still is the previous one which is july 24 instead of december 27 2018. If the earliest interview is taking 16 months, maybe I'll have mine by the end of the year. Oh my goodness!

thank you for your response, sorry Im replying after a while..... We filed everything correctly with our lawyer, its been more that a year now and still waiting, those processing times are broad estimates, which dont really help.

Also, did anyone request an expedite on EAD? Did you contact a senator/congressman/ombudsmen?
