  • Income didn't meet the Poverty Guidelines

    Hi everyone!

I have a question. It might be a silly question but I will throw it just in case someone is in the same scenario. My husband is like 5k away from the required guidelines of USCIS (2018 annual) . However, we calculated the recent 3 pay checks that he got and it will reach the required annual income this year 2019. Because I have a friend, what they did is they add 3 pay checks that her husband got and they multiply it to 4. They reach the goal which is 19k around that time and they did the process without any trouble. Can we proceed on the process? Or we have to wait by 2020 to complete the whole 2019 annual income to start? Thank You all.

Have you considered getting a joint sponsor?

Yes we did but it was unsuccessful. The people we asked (my in laws/ our friends) we’re afraid of getting sued or getting their retirements taken away from them. :-(
