Been told my i-693 Medical results are going to take 2-3 weeks? What can I do?

So, I did my medical on Monday, naturally expecting the results of the test to come back in 2-3 days, as I have been told is the norm by literally everyone who has had to do it. I just called and was told that my results are going to take 2-3 WEEKS. I have my interview next week, and now I won't have any medical results going in.

Is there anything that I can do here? I'm kind of freaking out about being denied.

2-3 weeks that sounds odd. Did you ask why?

On a side note, if you dont have the medicals when you go to the interview they will likely give you an RFE to provide within 20 days, so even if they dont come back on time, you may still be fine. Obviously its less hazzle to have it with you during the interview.

Perhaps the doctor was mistaking and said 2-3 weeks instead of days by mistake. I dont know what could possible take weeks for the medical.

Sometimes they say 2-3 weeks because they have to send in the bloodwork to a third party lab diagnostics center and it depends on the lab that processes it (bloodwork typically more like 1-2 weeks). If the results come back and you're required to do more tests (for example for tuberculosis), then it could take longer, so maybe that's why they said 2-3 weeks?

When I went for my medical they told me something similar but I heard back within 2-3 days. I did also call multiple clinics to ask about this and asked if they could expedite it. Most places said no, some places said they could put in a note but it probably wouldn't make a difference.
