Hi All,
My husband adjusted his status from TPS based on the Ramirez v. Brown ruling that covers the 9th Circuit. We are in Los Angeles.
Adjustment based on marriage to USC:
Sept. 22, 2017: Mailed forms I-130, I-485, I-864, G-325a, I-131, I-765 plus supporting documents and filing fees.
Sept. 29, 2017: Notice of Receipt of the Forms (Priority date Sept. 27, 2017).
[At some point here my husband did biometrics for both TPS and the green card application.]
Oct. 31, 2017: Received RFE.
Dec. 11, 2017: Attorney responded to RFE.
June 12, 2018: RFE requesting form I-130A.
June 20, 2018: Responded to RFE.
[Before the interview we also got a request to bring the medical form to the interview. Now medical forms are good for 2 years, but we had waited to do the exam because we heard people had discovered their medical forms expired before the interview.]
July 30, 2018: Received interview notice.
Sept. 3, 2018: Interview. The officer gave us a paper that said our case would be held for review. He acknowledged our marriage was real but he said he had to review the file.
Sept. 4, 2018: Notice date for I-130 approval.
Oct. 3, 2018: We received the combo card (work authorization/advance parole).
Jan. 11, 2019: I-485 approval notice.
Jan. 15, 2019: Received notice that the green card is in the mail.
It's a long process but I'm so glad we are getting the card! It seems like the local USCIS offices are all backed up because they now have to do more interviews (since they are interviewing employment-based green card applications now).
