  • Phoenix February 2018 filers

I am on 331 days now!. I have heard others getting interviews and their GC in my same category. I have not heard anything since August 2018 when I received my EAD card.

I thought my category was supposed to be quick. Can anyone enlighten me on why it is taking so long?

    My timeline:
Category F1: Petitioned by my daughter who is a US citizen and we both live in the US.
    2-12-18 USCIS received my I-765 and I-485
    2-20-18 USCIS accepted my fingerprints
3-21-18 USCIS received my response to RFE for I-485. NBC working on case
7-30-18 USCIS sent request for Initial evidence for I-485. NBC working on case
8-9-18 USCIS received response to RFE for I-485. NBC working on case
8-14-18 USCIS ordered new card – I765 EAD
8-16-18 USCIS mailed your new card – I765 EAD
    8/20/18 received new EAD/SS Card

The priority dates for F1 category are ranging from 1997 to 2011, depending on your country of chargeability. So if your priority date is 2011 or earlier it can go as fast as the field office works. If your priority date is more recent it will take longer, but you probably would not have been able to file yet.

      Hi BluePanther,

My mistake, I am category IR-5: Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old.

That makes more sense then ;-). But I think it still depends on the processing time of the field office.
