  • Medical form expiration. Please help

    Hello.
    I have one question.
I sent the sealed medical form envelope with my AOS forms.
My PD Date is Feb 22nd 2018. My interview is on Feb 14th Feb 2019. Do I need to do another medical or is the one I sent still good?
I hope I do not have to as it is costly. I?m a little confused on when it is deemed expired.

I think that if they don't ask for new one, then they will use the one you sent. Medical forms expire after 2 years (since November 1, 2018). They say that some forms before that date 'could' expire at 1 year as before.

That's why I guess that if they don't ask for new one, they will use the one they already have.
Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

All my posts are based on my experience or information I read on the forums or the USCIS website. I may be wrong. Please consult a professional.

It will depend on the date your doctor signed the medical. If the I485 was filed within 60 days after the doctor signed the medical, it should be valid for two years. If more than 60 days passed between doctor signature date and USCIS receipt date, it is only valid for 1 year.

When did you send it? The poster below is correct. However, the I-693 Medical has a ~potential~ validity period of two years IF the civil surgeon signed it no more than 1 yr before you submitted it to uscis AND your case was adjudicated no more than 1 yr after you submitted it.

        So for example:
You get medical done Feb 2018. You submit medical in June 2018 (idk why, maybe that's when you submit your application). Your medical is valid until June 2019.

        That is my understanding, anyway.

Now for applications submitted after Nov 1, 2018, you have to do it less than 60 days before you submit the underlying petition and it's valid for 2 years from date of signature.

Since you submitted prior to Nov 1, 2018, whether you medical is valid depends on when it was signed & submitted. I believe they will still use the old system if you did not get the medical w/in 60 days of submitting the underlying application.
