EAD & Social Security Card Question

    EAD & Social Security Card Question

    Hi all,

    On 1/19 I finally got my COMBO CARD :-)
    When i filed the i-765 i cheked for a SSN/card too - but I didn't get anything yet.

    I'm here in America for over 3 years - entered and worked on an H1-B Visa - now in a AOS process (c)9
    When i moved to America I applied for SSN and got the card with the number and a note: "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION".

    Can anyone tell if the social security card you are getting few days after the combo card is with/without the note? or with a different note?
    In addition, can anyone clarify if I will get the same number i had before?

    09/04/18 - Credit Card Was Charge
    09/10/18 - 4 NOA Letters
    09/21/18 - Biometrics Appointment Notice Letter
    09/26/18 - Biometrics Walk-In
    09/27/18 - Fingerprint Review Was Completed (I-485 + I-765)
    09/27/18 - Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview (I-485)
    01/16/19 - Case Was Approved (I-765 + I-131)
    01/19/19 - Received Combo Card
    01/23/19 - Received Social Security Card

    it will be the same note and the same number. When you get your green card you can go to the social security office and have the note removed.

    4-29-18 Finger Print fee was received
    9-26-18 I-765 and I-131 Approved
    10-02-18 Card Was Delivered To Me By The Post Office (sent to Lawyer) Day 167
    10-03-18 Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview Day 168
    10-05-18 your case has been scheduled for a interview. Day 170
    11-13-18 Interview
    11-13-18 New card being produced
    11-15-18 I130 and I485 Approved
    11-20-18 Card Mailed

        We had to apply for our own. Our high priced Lawyer forgot to check the box to give permission and I didn't know better at the time. Took about a week and a half to get it. You should be good to go, make an appointment with Social Security and update your account with your new EAD if you don't hear from them in the next few days. It will be the same Number.

          I got the SS Card today :-)
          Same number, same note just the date below is different.
          Can i still use the original i have even if it's 4 years ago? Does SSC expires?

            No expiration, you own that number till you die
