  • Can I quit or change my job?

    Hi Everyone,

I am a green card holder and I and my husband finished the AOS interview on 1/9/2019, but IO gave us a letter saying the case is being held for review and there is no update at all since then.

I have enough asset/bank deposits to support my husband on i-864 ( my asset is more than 5 times the amount of poverty line). If I quit my job now and look for another one, will this affect our case ?

Let's say in the future if we need to go to the second interview, will we need to submit a new sponsor affidavit?

    Thank you!

I never understand why people quit their jobs before finding a new one

Personal thought, I don't think it matters if you change your job as long as your annual salary/AGI is above that poverty line. i.e. Just make sure that your annual tax return/tax transcript shows that your income is above the line.
