  • Interview completed but case status changed to case transferred to new office

    Hello,

I am new to this forum and I thought of posting my case to get some guidance and feedback. The responses and help from all members in this forum has been great and very informative.

I completed my interview on Dec 11th 2018 in Chicago and everything look good. My priority date is around end of March. However I checked my case status today 26th Jan 2019 and it showed up as " Case was transferred and a new office has jurisdiction " . Not sure what does that mean. I was under impression that at the most I may have to wait till the priority date becomes current and status would remain the same till that time as " Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed ". Also another strange observation is that in the current status status it is mentioned that on May 4, 2018 , my form I-485 was transferred to register for permanent residence and so on. If you do not receive your notice by June 3rd 2018 , please visit the USCIS website to request a copy.

What does this message mean ? Any thoughts or if anyone is in a similar situation ? Some advise will be of great help. Thank you.

    Hi ashyap, Any Update there?

    Hi ashyap,

I am at the same corner as you did, and I also completed my I-485 interview at Chicago field office back to Dec. 12, 2018 (the next day after you interviewed) and I have been waiting for current after that too!

Do you have any update since then? Let's cross fingers and pray.

    Best Wishes!

Yes so after my interview was complete , the status was interview completed and the case must be reviewed .Just yesterday the status changed to that the case has been transferred to another office. Also the dates mentioned also seem to be 2018. So I am a bit confused. Fingers crossed.

Hi everyone, had my interview a month ago. Everything went fine but she said that she needs a new medical and told me to go to the doctor ASAP, so I have it ready by the time she sends me a notice request.
so apparently, the medical expires in 60 days from the day when it was signed by a doctor.
i have 30 days left to submit it and I was wondering if I can just submit it without there request notice, has anyone done that?

Hi everyone, me and my wife had the employment based GC interview at the end of January 2020. Everything went ok but the OP said that he needs to carefully review the documents and will make the decision later. It's been more than 2 months now and we haven't received RFE or approval. Our applications did get transferred twice after each month, the information center said it will send out documents to our address but we didn't receive anything for the 2 transfers. Is this normal? Has anyone on this thread received any update since their initial query?

Ivy1108 Hey! how long did it take for you to receive the letter that your case was transferred to NBC after AOS interview as your priority date was not current?
