  • Interview Experience - Done Today!!

    Hello All,

I want to share my experience. Our interview was done on Oakland Park, FL

I filed April of 2017 and receipt notice on April 27th.

We arrived 30 minutes before and the IO called about 40 min past appointment time. We brought a translator for my wife. The IO was very nice, very polite and the interview did go very well.

After the initial talk, swear to tell the truth and sign some papers and do fingerprint she asked my wife what was her address, my full name, my Birth City and my Birth date. She asked me the same questions after that.

After that she asked my wife why she came to the US, and if she ever left and then she asked me to talk about how we met, who proposed to whom, how was the weeding and who attended, I said it was just my friend but we had dinner at night with my family. She asked if I met her family as well, which we both met our families.

After that she asked for the evidences and I gave all the evidences I brought, Bank statements checking and savings, Credit card with her being an authorized user, her as my beneficiary for 401k and retirement plans, my wife on my Healthy, Dental and Vision Insurance, bills such as t_mobile with her phone listed, Xfinity with her name on the bill, some medical bills with our address addressed to her and our 2017 income tax filled together and also a transcript from IRS, print out from Expedia 5 trips we flew together to different places. I also gave her the updated medials since she did not ask me. She said Oh... the other one expired? I said yes..

The only think that threw me off a little is that I took a ver y nice album, 55 photos and I do photography as a hobby so the photos were really pretty and in several location since we travel a lot. She flipped through 1 single page asked where that particular photo was taken and closed the album and gave it back to us, She did not keep any photos as well.

After that just the 485 questions and she told us the case was being held for review with a decision arriving in the mail in the next 120 days!!

I checked today and no update online as of yet, I hope I get one soon!!

EDIT!! We just noticed my wife's passport might have stayed behind, we can't find it anywhere? Should we go there without an info pass? What do we do? Tips?

        Guys,

I talked to my paralegal she prepared all my application and she said to me that they usually keep photos and that it was my job to offer the IO to keep some photos. That was never told to me before. In fact like I mentioned she flipped through 1 page and gave the album back to us.

Is is a true fact? I find hard to believe, because the other evidence I gave her she told me: "I'm keeping this for my file, is that ok?" and I said yes of course.

My paralegal said, they might send a letter asking for more evidence, such as photos and that got me a little nervous, any similar cases?

        Thanks much!!

My USC wife filed for minor my son from my
EX WIFE, we went to interview on 24th of Jan at tampa office, the office was so nice, since it's been 7 year of my marriage he said he is approving my son's application and asked couple question to my wife like what do you do then she replied she is home maker and student then went through the application with my wife and ask her if its signature on the application, same thing he asked to my son and at the end he put couple stamps on the application and then we got up and the by the door he said he will review the application and make his decision, I am wondering about those stamps, what are those stamps and did u have same on your application? Hope they were approval stamps.

The same happened to us; I took an album with 80+ photos of us/family/friends through the years, and the IO looked through the album, and gave it back to us. He kept all other documents (bills, lease, credit card statements, etc.), but he did not keep any photos. With the initial application, I also sent in 55 photos, so not sure if that is why he didn't take any more from us at the interview.

The photos bear the least weights when it comes to proof because anybody could take some photos here and there, but that does not prove that the marriage is real and that they share financial responsibilities. I think you should be fine, no need to worry. If more evidence is requested, I believe it will be some kind of paperwork, although it seems you were very well prepared.

I think your approval letter should come soon, you just need to have a little bit more patience! Good luck and keep us posted!

When I went to my interview I didn't leave any photo and never got a letter asking for more evidence. 3 days laters after the interview I got a letter but it was an approval notice. It seems like you were well prepared, so you will be fine. Keep waiting and good luck!

I got a letter in the mail December 24th 2018. Then I went to the website and it said there it was scheduled on December 20th for the actual interview on January 28th.

However, so far no updates yet since the interview and no letter has arrived. Still waiting!! :/

So far, no decision has been made on our case!!

The Status for the I485 still says the interview was Scheduled, even though I have done the interview on Jan. 28
The I-130 still says that they received my adjustment status request back in 2017 and that further instructions would be send!!

My wife and I are super worried, this is just wrong... such a long wait!! No new RFE was send... we are just in the dark!!

Here is the thing, my wife Work Permit extension will expire this month, so now what do we do?
