  • Supporting documents when having long F-1 history and previous CPT experiences

    Hello,

My spouse is a principal applicant and I am planning to submit as a derivative applicant for I-485. I attended several U.S. institutions as a F-1 student for more than 10 years. For my previous degree, I did at least 8 part-time CPTs during 2010-2011, but no OPT. For my most recent degree, I did not use any CPT, and my OPT application is pending now.

    1. In this particular situation I have, when submitting supporting documents for I-485, what other documents should I prepare to reduce the chance of receiving RFEs (in addition to previous I-20s, transcript, diploma)?
    2. Should I also include offer letters I received related to CPTs as well? or just send them only when requested?
    3. Should I submit all my tax return I filed as a F-1 student? Is it necessary as a derivative applicant? Or should I submit only the past 3 years returns?
    4. I heard that when someone stayed in the U.S. for many years, they are most likely asked to provide evidence that they were funded by family or money they brought from their home comutnry. Would it be better to submit wire transfer recipts (my parents wired money to me) now rather than waiting until receiving RFEs?
    5. My parents are trying to dig out old transfer receipts they saved, but there is a chance that they may not be able to find all of them. Is an affidavit of support in writing enough as evidence that I was supported by my family?
    6. I went to high school in U.S., and my high school diploma is missing. Is submitting a transcript enough? Or should I submit a letter from school stating that I did attend and graduate from their school?

    Thank you!

He's on H1b. My spouse received PERM through his employer, and try to file I-140 and I-485, concurrently. And I am trying to file I-485 as a derivative applicant. By the way, please ignore my last question about diplomas (I found them!)
