  • Happy one minute frustrated the next

I just want to say I have been a silent viewer of this board since we started our process last January and it has been so helpful. Anyway, we had my husband's AOS marriage interview last week and everything went well. He was approved on the spot! It was great!

Forward one week, received the green card in the mail and it has the wrong dates on it (expiration and resident since) so it was the USCIS error so luckily we don't have to pay the $540 filing fee for this. The only way to fix it is to file yet another form I90 to get a corrected card and the wait time is about a year, you have got to be kidding me! Have to file form and turn in the old card. The worst part is my husband jumped the gun since he knew his card was in production and got plane tickets home for a week in March and now not sure if he will be able to get the green card stamp in his passport in time so we might lose out on the trip and the money for the tickets. Only way to get the stamp is to make Infopass appointment AFTER we received the receipt of the I90 from USCIS and that can take a few weeks, ugh.

This is so annoying and frustrating to say the least. We waited one year to get the interview and card, now have to wait another year for the corrected card and then turn around after that and apply for removal of conditions. I thought I could be done with immigration stuff for a while but I guess not.

Otherwise, our experience went pretty well and I wish everyone the best of luck. Biggest advice, check over everything and then double check it again. Everything you submit and everything they send to you.
