Did anybody lose your non-immigrat visa after filing I-130?

I just filed I-130, AOS and the combo cards earlier this month. I am on H1B but am close to getting a new job. Every lawyer I talked to told me to wait until I get my green.

I don?t understand....you want to transfer your h1b to a different employer or start working on your ead? Anyhow I don?t think how that could be an issue. People like to be extra cautious with the current political environment and tend to think h1b is safer in case your green card is denied. But unless you have reasons to think to think your green card might be denied I don?t think you should miss a good professional opportunity.

Sorry I meant giving up my current job and H1B and take the new job with EAD.

You can stay in the US with a pending I-485 regardless of whether you have status or not. You can be employed once you have your EAD.

Just keep in mind that it is currently taking about 6 months for people to get their EAD. I personally wouldn't consider anything until you have your EAD in hand!
