So I've posted a few times to this forum at the beginning of our process, haven't posted much since thing but I've been actively monitoring this forum. I wanted to share with you all the good news that we finally have our USCIS interview schedule.
Background on application:
-I am a USC sponsoring AOS/Permanent Residence for my foreign husband. We are filing in New York, NY.
-July 2017: All forms mailed to USCIS/Priority Date.
-August 2017: Biometrics
-October 2017: EAD received.
-August 2018: Application for EAD renewal submitted.
-September 2019 - February 2019: No response from USCIS on EAD renewal
-February 2019: Text message received: Interview scheduled for I-485.
This process has taken a lot longer than I expected, but I feel an overwhelming sense of relief knowing that our interview was scheduled. Can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Any tips or things we should know about regarding the interview process? We plan on bringing proof of bona fide marriage through our apartment lease, cell phone/utility bills, bank statements, health insurance, a few photos, and notarized letters from friends. Do we need to bring our original marriage certificate or will a copy be okay? Likewise, do we need to bring originals of any of the documentation submitted with the application originally? (birth certificates etc)
Thank you kindly for your help!
