hello all,
a little backstory:
my mom is from el salvador, she entered illegally back in 1990/1991 and then she had me in '94.. she's been in the states since.
she applied for TPS immediately when it came out back in 2001 -- in January 2018 we had to travel to her country due to her little brother having surgery due to an illness and that unknowingly "erased" her illegal entry
we were made aware of this by a lawyer; so now, we submitted her petition for AOS in January of 2019 and her biometrics appointment is on Feb 11,2019
My hope (as naive as it sounds ) is that USCIS won't take as long as it did with my husband (2 years) given that 1. she's been in the system for 17 years because of TPS and 2. there's no need to investigate legitimacy of relationship as it's mother/daughter & father is deceased (plus he wasn't in the picture).
i was wondering if anyone on here had experience in petitioning for their parents? and if so, would you all be so kind as to share your journey with me?
Thanks much!
