I recently requested an expedite of my travel permit (I-131), went through all the motions of sending in additional evidence etc. case went from 'a response was sent', 'was completed', then after a couple of weeks switched to 'an officer has been assigned', after I sent in the additional evidence etc.
Today I receive a case update that my work permit (I-765) card is being produced (I wasn't expecting to get this until April/May taking into account the processing times for when I applied).

Do you think they've issued the combo card as per my expedite request for the travel permit? Or do you think they've made a mistake and issued me the work permit instead of the travel permit? On the case tracking it says for the expedite request that a response has been sent on February 7th and then again that the case has been completed on February 7th (wouldn't this say it'd been approved?) then on the work permit case tracking it says 'card is in production' and it now says the date they received the work permit application saying they received it, not the expedite date, when that notification wasn't there before? I was expecting to get the travel permit only at this time.

I'm confused! I tried calling them but she said it isn't on their system yet and she couldn't tell me what the response said (even though they've told me this over the phone before). She did say 9/10 times they issue the combo card in expedite requests but she couldn't say for sure. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how long did it take you to receive your card or another update? Thank you

It means that you will get the EAD card next week.

I guess if you filed together 765 and 131, it will be a combo card. Keep us posted.

Most likely when they expedite one they expedite the other as wall if you applied for it. I was in a similar situation and requested they expedite my i-765 but didn't request to expedite the i-131. They expedited both and sent me a combo card.

That's great to know - thank you. How long did it take you to receive the card since your status changed to card is in production? Do they send it quicker when it's been expedited? Did your status change again that the card had been mailed? Thank you

I filed at the end of October and I have an interview date for roughly two weeks from now. My i-130 was already approved last year though so I think that's why it hasn't taken very long for an interview date! I will keep you posted for sure.

Usually they update with USPS picked the card and give you a tracking number.
