Figured out how to speak to Cust Service - they lost my EAD extension

So anyone struggling to get to speak to someone, choose the option that says you cant find your receipt number, and they connect you. I then gave my A number

So they have no record of my EAD extension application, and offer no help. "it may have been something to do with the gov shutdown, sorry". I have one month left on my EAD and been told I will be illegally working and they can do nothing to help

I'm so sorry - can you try and expedite it?
I actually figured out the same thing with trying to speak to someone. I press 1, then 2, then say still I don't have my receipt number, then it still asks you to put your receipt number in anyway so I just do that each time and it connects me!

Apply again immediately. Once you get your i-797 it automatically extends your current EAD in some categories for 180 days.
