    • BenL18 I agree. USCIS Web site for LA office says to be there an hour early (due to security). Not sure if we will need to get there that early! Good luck to you guys.

            • Hi everyone!

Just wanted to let you know how the interview went.

Arrived at the LA field office at 8:45am for 9:30am interview. Checked in at 9:20am and waited. Surprisingly, i was called at 9:32am!! IO officers asked for our passports and ID, made a copy then ushered us into her office. After taking the oath, IO went over my application, asking:
              • my DOB
              • current address and how long i have resided there
              • my parents name's
              • my wife's DOB and current employment.
              • my employment history
              • date of most recent entry to US
The only original docs the IO asked for was my birth certificate and marriage license. Nothing about my medical

Then a series of Yes/No questions for 5 minutes. After that she based her questions at both of us:
              • how we met
              • if and how many times my wife had traveled to Australia
              • about the proposal and wedding
              • what we were planning for thanksgiving
Then she asked if we wanted to submit any further documents to support our case. After handing over the TOC i created, the IO was more focused on the pictures, which were in color (big plus), as she seemed intrigued by our story, civil ceremony and wedding ceremony in Mexico. IO also appreciated the TOC and how organised i was, for a guy! (thanks guys!!)

After going through everything, the IO had no more further questions for us and approved us on the spot. Explained the conditions pertaining to the card, when we should receive it and that was it. We were out just before 10!

To be honest, i think we got really lucky with our IO. After starting out very formal, she became a lot more relaxed throughout, given that we had a lot of chance things in common (my wife and the IO sister work for the same small company and the IO had just returned from the city where we had our ceremony in, San Miguel de Allende, MX). I guess its the chance of the draw!

Hope you all get some good news soon!

SouthBay2019 how did your interview go?!

              • BenL18 Big congratulations to you. Very happy for you two.
Our interview was LONG. IO asked to interview me by myself (I am petitioner, Naturalized USC) for 45 minutes. She asked many, many questions (how many bedrooms in the house, how many windows in master bedroom and where they are located, how we met, where I proposed, if my wife takes any medication, who woke up first, what we ate for dinner last night, if she has any tattoos, what kind of cars we drive, etc). Then she interviewed my wife (beneficiary) for 25 minutes. It seems that she was looking very hard to find discrepancies and none were there!!

She Compared the answers, kind of waived her hands and said everything looks good. She gave us a piece of paper stating interview is now complete and is pending further review. So, we are hoping it will get approved soon. To be honest, we are glad it is behind us. While I was there I saw a lot of "friendly" IOs. I think we got a tough one but that is OK. She had a job to do and was doing the best that she can. We are just glad to be out of there

                Wishing you all the best.

                • SouthBay2019 have you had any update since your interview other than “interview completed and your case is being reviewed”?

I am in a similar time frame as you and had my interview same day in Hartford.

just curious on if this is a normal response/wait time.

                  thanks

                  • Cf151 No update. Stuck at the same place. Our attorney is telling us it usually takes up to 30 days and sometimes 3-4 months. So, we are just waiting for update. Keep me posted if you have any update and I will do the same. Good luck.
