  • Interview done in ATL. Will only approve if I fax the documents missing.

    Ok. Interview today In ATL.

We got there at 1:50pm and got called about 30 mins later. Interview took about an hour.
She gave us the oath and sat us down and took my picture and finger print ( i?m the beneficiary)

She asked for evidence of marriage as we never submitted it with the AOS package. We gave her

    Two joint bank accounts
    Renter?s insurance
    Car insurance.
Mail mine and my husband?s coming to our address
    Cable bill
    Gas bill
    Credit cards
    Joint Tax 2018

She asked for health insurance and medical insurance( we explained that I have a temp job and my husband is 1099 so we don?t get benefits)
She was wondering why we have been married since 2017 but our evidence is pretty recent. She also asked for joint 2017 tax return but She took my EAD and saw that I just received it in July 2018 and said ?oh I see why?

She asked all the questions on form I 485 and my husband?s form 130

Here is where my husband messed up. we don?t have a lease together and we explained why because of the tax credit apartment we live in. Our income would disqualify us. She asked my husband when we moved in and my husband said October 2018 instead of April 2018. My Husband confused the month with the month he moved in with us which is October 2016. I wanted to correct him but she was going too fast.

The interview was a little tense at the beginning but she warmed up as the interview progressed. We were laughing and making jokes by the end of the interview.

Since we didn?t have the lease with us which is under my name and I did not have my son?s birth certificate who is a US citizen she said she will only approve the file if I fax her the lease and my son?s birth certificate by Monday. She gave us the fax number and her name. I think she wants the lease to verify that we live in that address because we gave her a lot of documents with our address and she was circling the address as she went on. At the same time I?m terrified my husband?s mistake out of nervousness will mess things up. I?m trying to remain positive.

She didn?t even ask us how we met and who proposed to who all those questions. Then at the end as we were leaving she mentioned do you have any pictures. I pulled out few pics with my husband, my family when they visited us, his niece and etc.

I?m crossing my fingures that the status will update when I fax the info tomorrow. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

    Sorry for the long text

Oh and something else that is bothering me, she never took my EAD and I-94. Can someone explain this to me...

And I?m also confused again. She gave us a letter that the following where checked

-Your case is being held for review. At this time USCIS does not require any further information.

But she told us If I fax her the documents then she will approve the file and I should have my card in 60 days. Abe said it?s up to me to act really fast by Monday.

I hope they wouldn?t be giving us false hope.

    I?m really confused. Help!!!!

So why are you not faxing the documents, if the officer has asked for something, the onus falls on you to get the documentation to them as soon as possible. I dont see why you are leaving anything to chance.
Priority date of Oct 30th 2017
    12/05/2017 - Did my biometrics
12/17/2017 - Got a RFE requesting my USC sponsors tax information for proof of sponsorship
12/19/2017 - USCIS received our RFE response on December 19th
    02/03/2018 - got my combined EAD\AP
10/04/2018 - Status updated in the USCIS case tracker as "Ready to schedule interview"
    10/09/2018 - Applied for EAD\AP Renewal
12/26/2018 - Got a notification that the "interview was scheduled"
    01/31/2019 - Interview date
