Hi. I have a question about I-693 Medical Examination and need some advice.
I filed my I-485 and I-131 in October, 2018. I did not file I-693 at the time because I wanted to bring it when I have an interview.
Last week, I received curtesy letter saying that don't submit I-693 at this moment and I need to bring it with an interview.
Also my I-485 status changed to "Case is ready to be scheduled."
I believe that medical record was good for about a year? at the time since civil surgeon signed. So I was gonna get my medical examination as soon as possible while I was waiting for an interview to be scheduled.
However, it look like USCIS changed the policy. According to USCIS website, it is said " The updated policy, which goes into effect on Nov. 1, 2018, will require applicants to submit a Form I-693 that is signed by a civil surgeon no more than 60 days before filing the underlying application for an immigration benefit."
Does this mean that I have to have my medical examination done at most 60 days earlier than my interview date? Let's say I did medical examination in March 1st, I have to have an interview within 60 days.
Even thought my status changed to " Case is ready to be scheduled", I know that it doesn't mean I'm gonna get the interview scheduled. It could be a few month to more than half a year....
So I would like to know or have some advices how do you manage your medical examination date? How am I supposed to schedule medical examination.
I wonder if I have enough time to get medical examination done AFTER I receive an actual interview date.
I am a little afraid because I don't know how many days earlier USCIS notify an interview date. Also, I don't know if I can get appointment at the clinic sooner.
Please let me know if you have any advice. Thank you.
