Biometrics appointment

Since this forum has been very helpful during this process, I wanted to share my experience today during the Biometrics Appointment.

At the front desk, the lady told me that since the App letter only had one of my last names and my passport and driver license has two (as in my country we had father and mother last name) that before I get the fingerprint process, the Officer needed to approve my ID.

I went to the Officer and i explained what the Info lady said, and she ask me for my marriage certificate, ask when did I arrived to here, who did I came with, and if i was planning to change my last name to my husband (so i told her no) and the she asked me his last name, while she was reading the marriage certificate, and then she said... oh you married in Las Vegas... how was it?? I just said it was nice, and the she said. ok, wait to be called outside. The lady was very nice, but honestly I was not expecting any of this and I felt as i was in the interview. Luckily I had "the folder" with all the documents.

Everyone was very nice in the office, West Palm Beach Application Support Center.

2/7/19 - Received I797 mail for all files
2/14/19 Obtained Driver License!

Did you file with only one last name? My letter for biometrics had my full name (2 last names).

Not related with biometrics, did you get the driver license for 1 year?

I filed with both last names as it appears in my passport and birth certificate.

And Yes the driver license is only valid for one year, with all the paper work from USCIS and my husband passport and marriage certificate.

At least in Texas, you can get a license without SSN. You need to prove you are legal, even if it is only temporary.

Sorry, I don't. I'm still under visa so I didn't use the NOA to renew my license.

I think it should be acceptable, because that show that you are AOS. I guess they will send the scanned documents to DHS to confirm the legal status. Good luck.

Thank you. I read somewhere that the DMV does not recognize the form as it precisely states ?THIS NOTICE DOES NOT GRANT ANY IMMIGRATION STATUS OR BENEFIT. Has anyone dealt with this?

I Do Not have a SSN. I used the I-797 notice.

Thats what i use. the I797 from the I130 and I485 and I had to bring my husband passport to prove he is a USC with the marrige certificate
The proof of address was that letter along with a bank statement.
