NY DMV wont renew Drivers License based on EAD extension letter

Somehow New Jersey DMV is parallel immigration authority where they don’t consider AOS Receipts and only renew when you show EAD card. Anyone able to renew license in NJ based on AOS receipts?

I was able to renew my DL in NJ this week. My prior EAD is expired and new is not issued yet. I took my i-94 with me

Congrats ! I think they are doing for renewals cases - but if it’s first time EAD and pending AOS - then They are not issuing even temp license until you get your EAD.

I was in the some situation like this a few weeks back in Pennsylvania where when they try to verify my information SAVE would not return any valid information base on the receipt extension. What happen now is that the dmv submit some information the the main office in Harrisburg for a deeper verification and then they sent me a letter welcoming me back to the dmv. However Pennsylvania only allow up to a year on the driver's license so instead of giving me a license for 6 month I got it for a year.
