Hi everyone,
I've recently received the letter scheduling my AOS interview for March 13 (Yay!). The letter mentions a list of documents to bring to the interview (if not already provided), including " Federal Income tax returns and W2 for the most recent year" for the sponsor(s). When we initially submitted our application (in 2018), we provided those documents for the years 2015 / 2016 / 2017 but now that we are in march 2019, I wondering if I need to provide documents for 2018. Although I have her W2 for 2018, my sponsor hasn't filed her taxes yet so she doesn't have her Federal income tax return for 2018.
Given the timing of the AOS interview (scheduled before the April tax return deadline), am I supposed to provide evidence for 2018 or is 2017 enough? (again, I have the W2 just in case). In other words, as of today, is the "most recent tax year" necessarily 2018?
Also, the initial petitioner (my wife) started working end of last year (November), so is it useful to bring her new W2? (she wont have the federal return either because we're filing jointly and the return is handled by my job. I dont control the timing on that)
Thanks a lot
