  • Los Angeles Filer - Timeline

    Hi Everyone,

This forum has been really helpful to me when I was stressed over how long the process was taking. I filed in Los Angeles and wanted to give a timeline of my experience to hopefully help others. It took longer that I hoped, but we made it in the end.

    Adjustment/GC through Marriage:

    10/22/2017: PD
    10/30/2017: Biometrics Scheduled
    6/22/2018: EAD Approved
    6/28/2018: Ready to schedule interview
    1/22/2019: Interview Scheduled
    2/26/2019: Interview
3/4/2019: Updated to card being produced

We didn't use a lawyer and had an RFE for an additional year of tax returns in early 2018, which is why it took so long to have the EAD approved. The standard wait in LA is 15-28 months and we were at about 18, even with an RFE.

Good luck, everyone! I know the waiting is stressful, but if things are taking longer than you think, it's OK.

But now processing time is shorter - it says from 13 to 19 months, still a long wait but better than 28 months anyway...

No, I didn't have it (I was here on B1/B2 visa with no SSN), but I assume you will renew it when your current DL gonna expire. Not sure if you can just add the new information to your profile online.
