  • AOS Interview Completed, Case under review

I had my employment-based AOS interview on 02/11/19, Interview was very long but went ok. The IO said that I need to get updated medical records and that I should be recieving an RFE. My case status changed to "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed" within a few hours.
It has been over 3 weeks, and there is still no change, nor have I received the RFE. What are my options? Has anybody experienced similar situations?
My interview took place in Dallas, TX, and my priority date is current.

Did you submit a medical with the initial application? is that why you need to submit a new one? Because if you didn't submit it but took it with you to the interview it should still be valid for two years from the time it was signed by the surgeon.
    Applications: I-102, I-485 and I-130

    PD: 7/24/17

I submitted my medical with the intial application, at the time validity was only 1 year. I was not aware of needing a new one until the interview

Was your medical signed less than 60 days before you submitted form I-485?
        When did you file I-485?

        According to this: https://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/H...er4.html#S-C-4
If I-693 was signed less than 60 days of filing I-485, then it should be valid for 2 years from the day it was signed.

The I-693 was signed over 3 months before I-485 submittal. I-485 was submitted in April 2018. I received the EAD in December 2018, and Interview Request on 01/07/19. I have no concerns on re-submitting updated I-693, however I am anxious as to why the RFE for it has not been sent.

With this information, it looks like your I-693 is still valid and will expire in April 2019 at 1 year after submitting I-485. Your case is first row.

As why the RFE has not been sent, they can take a couple of months (or more) to ask for any other document.

I hope they follow the official information and they just approve your GC. Good luck.

I don't think so, Enub4. He did his medical about 90 days BEFORE submitting his application. If his application was submitted in April 2018, his medical expired before April 2019.

I wanted to ask you about your AOS interview. You mentioned that it was very long. How so? Did the officer review all of your application? Did the officer request originals? If you could provide some details it would greatly appreciated!

Yes maybe I'm wrong, this is what I understand from the graphic:
                  - form submitted before November 1, 2018
                  - When did civil surgeon signed it? Less than 1 year before I-693 submitted to USCIS
                  - When was underlying benefit application filed with USCIS? I-485 submitted more than 60 days after civil surgeon signed the I-693
                  - I-693 retains evidentiary value through 1 year from date applicant submitted I-693 to USCIS

I guess crazybarracuda14 submitted I-693 with I-485 on April 2018, that's why I say that it should be valid until April 2019. This of course is from the changes on November 1, 2018 and they should apply to pending cases.

But English is not my first language, so maybe I'm not understanding the information correctly.

Case Under Review for 2 months

My case has been under review since Jan. 13 [interview was Jan. 9]. So far no update. Anybody else been under review this long? Lawyer said they might call us in for 2nd interview but it never happened.

Guess what you are not the only one in this.
my interview was 3/12/19 . Dallas Tx
we were told that my medical has expired after the interview . She informed us that she will sent a letter then we can go do the medical and send back to her, then they will make a final decision.
3/24/19 No letter ( RFE )yet.
please update yours when you eventually gets your RFE
