  • RFIE for I-130 after over 4 months Questions regarding timeline

    Hi everyone,
So apparently USCIS just sent me a RFIE today regarding my husband's I-130. I have several questions:
    1) Does this mean the clock for I-130 will start over and I'm back to square one with it?
    2) Does this also slow down, or even worse, also start the clocks for my I-485 and I-765 over?
    Thank you very much!

If anything it will speed up your process since they're actively working on it. I've read stories of fast turnaround after RFE's. Good luck!

Thank you so much, i really really hope that's the case. It's just I've heard from several people that RFIE will start the clock over again and that kinda panics me

Wow I didn't know it could go faster after RFIE, thank you so much. Hopefully it won't take me back to square one or that'll be devastating :-/ Oh and you said RFE, and mine is RFIE, is there a difference?

From my experience, the answer to your question #1 is Yes. I received an RFIE to my spouses documents 3 months after RD and case was on hold until I have submitted the reply to the RFIE, they said so in the NOA for the RFIE.
Consequently, if you concurrently filed your I-130 with your 485 and 765, then everything is affected as well.
But dont lose heart, its just a matter of waiting.
Some get to wait a shorter period, in my case we pretty much waited the prescribed period, which is longer than others.
            Hope this helps.
            Cheers.

My time line is as stated in my signature. I didn't get my EAD until June, over 7 months from filing and 3 months from when I got RIFE so guess it doesn't turn restart the clock?
My I-130 is still at respond to RIFE received by USCIS
