My husband has his interview tomorrow at 1pm. I put off filing taxes because he got his EAD card and we hoped the SSN would come so we don't have to mess with filing the return paper file and using the W-7 form for him to obtain an ITIN. We have only been married since July so this is the first year filing together. Since tax season isn't over yet would it look bad if we didn't bring the tax returns and held out for the SSN? Has anyone been in this situation? I will still probably file tonight but I've been having a hard time deciding lol

I don't see any problem. Still a month to go for tax day. I don't think they can expect everyone to bring the latest tax return, some will bring it, but not all.Nov 2018 - Package sent - EB - Texas Service Center
Day 1 - Package received at the lockbox
Day 999 - Card delivered to me - Aug 2021

I agree with Enub4. 2018 tax returns are not due until April, so 2017 is the most current as of right now. Some may already have filed their 2018 taxes, but USCIS doesn't expect to see 2018 returns until after the due date.2019/02/27 PD
