To God be the glory!
Had my interview yesterday and just wanted to inform you guys on how it went. Got there 30 mins before the interview.and they called us in promptly to begin at 10am.
He informed us that he had not gone thru our file before and would be doing so while we conduct the interview. We then said the oath and began.
He asked:
How did we meet?
Where was she(my wife is the citizen btw) born?
Whats each other's birthday?
Whats my parents in law names?
Where we both work and what we do?
What's the plan after I get the green card?
Whats our wedding day?
We were in there for an HOUR because he took so long to go through our huge file. I became really bored in there. Plus the fact that me and my wife live in different states and he said he was just tryna make sense of everything while writing down his notes as we talked.
After he was done he looked at our supporting documents and kept some pictures and other documents establishing a relationship and told me I had been approvedand whats the next step in renewing to get the 10 yr green card and filing for citizenship. We had a couple of jokes after and he wished us luck.
Interview went smooth. No need to be nervous in there if you are not doing anything wrong. These guys are just doing their jobs. Being nervous will actually make you talk too much or give wrong answers by mistake.
Let me know if you guys have any questions. I will gladly answer.

Pd: March 2019
status update interview scheduled June 27 2019
still waiting on the letter Case open 115days. Most people would be happy but my wife (same sex) is due to give birth July 24...do you think we should try to reschedule the interview because she cannot travel out of state (csection). We filed in a different state because we did not expect process to be this fast. She has no family in my state and my job pays better that's why I didn't move to her state. We planned for her to fully move down here by September. Advice?Same Sex B1/B2 Visa

I knew I was going to have my EAD expedited once I filed my application, because my current OPT-EAD was due to expire 05/15/19. Also, I knew I had to expedite it under severe financial loss. Therefore, I had gathered all the necessary documents (i.e. Copy of I-797 for I-765 application, job letter, letter from HR saying that I needed to renew EAD or I will be fired, Leasing documents, credit card bills, electric bill, phone bill, EVERY freaking bill possible , a cover letter detailing my circumstance and how it would affect my spouse and me, payslips, etc).
Once I had all those documents, I was careful to start with my congressman's office, who was really helpful. I was honest and explained my situation to them. I emailed all the necessary documents to them that same hour, then followed up with them the next day. After, I submitted my own expeditious request by calling USCIS and they gave me a ref #, which I emailed to the congressman's office.
A week later, I contacted my Senator's office, her staff were really brash and to the point, so I just sent my documents over and communicated with them primarily through email. Fortunately, they were really efficient as USCIS emailed me like a day later asking for THE SAME PROOF I SENT before- so, I did just that and faxed all the SAME documents, along with a copy of their email notification. You MAY have to try the fax number several times before it goes through.
The longest part of the process was when I was notified 2 weeks ago that the document has been routed to the expediting unit, left the unit, and was just sitting there on the immigration's officer desk. My congressman confirmed this and I was so annoyed, like he was just staring at the darn thing all this time. That's the reason I contacted the Ombudsman, but I don't think they had a part in its preparation.
My status then changed to " "New Card Is Being Produced". I didn't get an email notification as I read that I would, but my online case status and app says the same, so I am just waiting right now. Fortunately, for me, I am still working and my current EAD card doesn't expire until 05/15/29- so I will be fine. I hope this helps.
I am happy I was able to complete this process within a month's time.

EAD card was finally ordered to be produced with the help of an expedite request. We worked with a House Representative's office to forward the documents on our behalf. We also mailed direct request with evidence to USCIS, but I don't think that did anything. I am not sure if that letter even reached the expediting unit. We also contacted our Senators' offices, but did not hear back at all.
Yesterday we tried to get an update through a Tier 2 officer, but were told that since our request was filed through a Congressional Liaison, she (Tier 2 officer) couldn't check the status, because it was not in her system and that we'd have to work through the Liaison. We then emailed our Representative's staff member again to please get in touch with the Congressional Liaison to help get our case adjudicated. This morning the I765 status got changed. Contacting Ombudsman was not helpful, because the response was "Many people seeking expedited processing face the loss of a job, internship, fellowship, scholarship, etc., and USCIS has indicated it is unable to take expedited action on requests absent additional compelling factors, such as eviction or medical emergency." I think this kind of contradicts the criteria stated by USCIS.3/3/19 - filed

Hey guys, so my spouse and I have our GC interview this Thursday and I am kind of worried because he is a full-time graduate student and at the time of our application my income was used to support both of us since I already had an EAD (went to school here on F1 visa). I am still currently and legally employed, but I am no longer working at the same job as when I filed and my income (our household income) is way above the poverty threshold. My question is, do you think this will be a reason for them to deny me the GC since my spouse is not working and only I am?
