Does anyone know if I can apply for an ID or driver's license with my receipts in TX. I haven't gotten an EAD yet but I have a ssn that says with DHS authorization

I'm glad you asked this question because although I was under the assumption that you couldn't apply, I still decided to look it up and indeed you can apply for a driver's license with your i797 and alien number in the state of TEXAS.

The link above shows the requirements. I'm going to look further into it, give them a call in the morning and if it checks out, I will be applying/renewing mine.

I did biometric on 29 March, still no change on my status, just case was received on I765 and RFE on i485 (I sent on 1 April, they process on 4 April, no update)

Oh my goodness! After like an uncountable amount of refresher clicks on the case tracker app, I finally got notified that my fingerprint review was completed.

From what I read most reports say 6-7 months, some even have the interview before the EAD.

BTW your signature say biometrics done 03/12/2019 and review completed 03/15/2019, maybe the dates are 04/12 and 04/15?

Hey guys quick question. I submitted i864 and I made a mistake. Instead of selecting I am petitioner option I accidentally selected join sponsor. Do you think they will reject the case or send RFE

Personal experience. As a student, my other international student friends and myself had to use our I-20s and F1 Visa to show that we maintained a lawful residence in the country. Once, I graduated and transferred over to OPT, I could not use my NOA (receipts) as a means to show lawful residence. Therefore, I gathered that the receipts only show that its holder is being processed for said lawful residence. In our friends case, he will have to wait until his EAD is in to show that he still has lawful residence in the USA. I went to the Texas-DPS and gave them my bank transcript and one of my USCIS letters to qualify as two forms of proof of Texas residency. My international passport as proof of ID. Finally, the i797c for pending i485 as proof of lawful presence. They did the first check and it failed, so they switched to the second step (SAVE) they say this takes about two weeks. Now, they have given me a website and a long serial number with which to check my approval for a DL in the next 5-7 working days. If the DHS approves then i will return to DPS and go through the written DL test and then the road test and will be issued a license. Fee if approved will be $25.

Is anyone aware of any pattern regarding how long family vs. employment based cases take? Or, this really all depends on a processing office?

Though this website has never updated for me as of yet. I've got my I-140 as well as my I-485 in there, and both still say 'received' and nothing else, while my I-140 has been approved back in January. My case does update on egov.uscis.gov but there you can't get SMS updates, correct?

The status was updated in dhs or USCIS site? My status does not show any update after biometric done. USCIS still shows "fingerprint fee received", DHS shows "case received". What app are you using?

we are about to send my AOS application. I got two photos taken for the application and now I need to complete it to 6 to send the package. My question is is it okay if I am in clothing in one set and in other set of pictures?
