Dennis, YKO: Did you status update to "fingerprint review completed"?. For me USCIS still shows "fingerprint fee received", DHS shows "case received".

OK, looks like we are on the same boat in this respect. Per my analysis -- if we are to get this update, we should get it in 2-3 weeks. Beyond that, we shall never get it, and next update would be either RFE or ready to schedule interview.
By the way, got a weird message today, from the dhs website: "We are still reviewing your case and there are no updates at this time We will notify you when your case status changes. We last took action on your case on April 28, 2019". Now, on logging on to the website, I see no update on April 28. For me, last update was on April 3rd!

              • Clearly I need a manual on how to use the DHS website... Apart from "We received your case" I can't see anything there.
Also, not everybody's status is updated with "Fingerprint review was completed". It really depends on the field office and how "nice" they are

You can turn on SMS/email notification in the DHS website. The message I referred to was an email I received today morning.

I got an update like that, it said January 29 and the last update was January 3rd. After a month, the next "still reviewing/ no updates" correctly stated January 3rd.

                      • Hi , I have been reading along . I am a March filer also. I signed all paper work and gave it to my lawyer by February 15th, how ever they did not mail it out till March 15th as of now I don't have a single receipt. I tried calling immigration to see why it's taking so long to get a response, they couldn't help me all they said was that my case was a Vermont service center and I should write a letter to them which I did about 3 weeks ago. Last week my lawyer said they spoke to immigration officer n they were told receipts should get here end last week ,latest this week , jst checked today no receipts yet. In the mean time I have lost my job n don't even know what to do. Can't track my case either due to no receipt. But I see most of u the cases are moving along pretty quick, so there's still hope.

I knew I was going to have my EAD expedited once I filed my application, because my current OPT-EAD was due to expire 05/15/19. Also, I knew I had to expedite it under severe financial loss. Therefore, I had gathered all the necessary documents (i.e. Copy of I-797 for I-765 application, job letter, letter from HR saying that I needed to renew EAD or I will be fired, Leasing documents, credit card bills, electric bill, phone bill, EVERY freaking bill possible , a cover letter detailing my circumstance and how it would affect my spouse and me, payslips, etc).

Once I had all those documents, I was careful to start with my congressman's office, who was really helpful. I was honest and explained my situation to them. I emailed all the necessary documents to them that same hour, then followed up with them the next day. After, I submitted my own expeditious request by calling USCIS and they gave me a ref #, which I emailed to the congressman's office.

A week later, I contacted my Senator's office, her staff were really brash and to the point, so I just sent my documents over and communicated with them primarily through email. Fortunately, they were really efficient as USCIS emailed me like a day later asking for THE SAME PROOF I SENT before- so, I did just that and faxed all the SAME documents, along with a copy of their email notification. You MAY have to try the fax number several times before it goes through.

The longest part of the process was when I was notified 2 weeks ago that the document has been routed to the expediting unit, left the unit, and was just sitting there on the immigration's officer desk. My congressman confirmed this and I was so annoyed, like he was just staring at the darn thing all this time. That's the reason I contacted the Ombudsman, but I don't think they had a part in its preparation.

My status then changed to " "New Card Is Being Produced". I didn't get an email notification as I read that I would, but my online case status and app says the same, so I am just waiting right now. Fortunately, for me, I am still working and my current EAD card doesn't expire until 05/15/29- so I will be fine. I hope this helps.

I am happy I was able to complete this process within a month's time.

Hello JAM-US, while expediting the EAD, were you on initial OPT ? Did you try for stem extension ? I am in a similar situation. I am eligible for stem extension, but I heard that I should not apply for stem extension when i-485 is pending.
