You are a week ahead of me! I asked the general counsel's office which prepared my filing when I received the biometrics updates. I seemed that depending on the person who's handling it, some got the updates (like me for receiving the notification twice) while some did not receive the update. I was told to not worry and we probably would not see any changes until late this summer.
I filed the 485J as well and just receive the receipt on Apr 30th.

    03/30/2019 - i797C for Biometrics appointment received.

    • Hi March filers,

I guess my case worker has been working on my case. Here is my updated timeline. Mt status changed to Case ready to be scheduled but no update on my EAD it is still listed as "Case Received". I wonder how long it will take to schedule my interview. I have been seeing a lot of cases where the interview takes place before its even issued. I am still excited for some kind of change even though I know it may not change again for the next several months. So now back to waiting

Using the code to verify lets you know instantly when you can return to the DPS by indicating that DHS has returned your result to the DPS office. (It wont tell you if youre verified or not though, just that your result has been sent back to DPS.)

I noticed myself that it takes about a day or two after the online result comes out before it reflects at your local DPS. Their response was to Austin HQ. But no need to worry, i just collected my DL. You should get the mail within the next 3 days or so. Even if you don't get the mail, in 3 days just go back there (after 3 days) because you don't have to present the letter you receive, just hold all the DPS related documents you currently have with you.

I knew I was going to have my EAD expedited once I filed my application, because my current OPT-EAD was due to expire 05/15/19. Also, I knew I had to expedite it under severe financial loss. Therefore, I had gathered all the necessary documents (i.e. Copy of I-797 for I-765 application, job letter, letter from HR saying that I needed to renew EAD or I will be fired, Leasing documents, credit card bills, electric bill, phone bill, EVERY freaking bill possible , a cover letter detailing my circumstance and how it would affect my spouse and me, payslips, etc).

Once I had all those documents, I was careful to start with my congressman's office, who was really helpful. I was honest and explained my situation to them. I emailed all the necessary documents to them that same hour, then followed up with them the next day. After, I submitted my own expeditious request by calling USCIS and they gave me a ref #, which I emailed to the congressman's office.

A week later, I contacted my Senator's office, her staff were really brash and to the point, so I just sent my documents over and communicated with them primarily through email. Fortunately, they were really efficient as USCIS emailed me like a day later asking for THE SAME PROOF I SENT before- so, I did just that and faxed all the SAME documents, along with a copy of their email notification. You MAY have to try the fax number several times before it goes through.

The longest part of the process was when I was notified 2 weeks ago that the document has been routed to the expediting unit, left the unit, and was just sitting there on the immigration's officer desk. My congressman confirmed this and I was so annoyed, like he was just staring at the darn thing all this time. That's the reason I contacted the Ombudsman, but I don't think they had a part in its preparation.

My status then changed to " "New Card Is Being Produced". I didn't get an email notification as I read that I would, but my online case status and app says the same, so I am just waiting right now. Fortunately, for me, I am still working and my current EAD card doesn't expire until 05/15/29- so I will be fine. I hope this helps.

I am happy I was able to complete this process within a month's time.

Hello JAM-US , Thank you for sharing the details, my husband has the same scenario as yours, and probably your post will help us for the expedition process. I had one question, did you contacted both offices congressman as well as Senators office ? Who helped you in expediting your case ? Thank you.

Both did. I felt like the senator started the process but the congressman's office saw it through .
