I 485 processing time

I applied on Sept. 16th 2002. EAD and AP approved on October 22 2002. So far no finger printing has been done. Still we are waiting.

Has anyboyd applied for I 485 during sep 2002? How long does it take for the approval?

I have filed I-485 on Sep 2002. Anyone know how to abandon the whole green card process without having trouble applying for non-immigrant visa(like visitor's visa) in the future?
