Hi
we filed in west palm beach florida almost 3 years ago for my wifes adjustment and green card. The case got transferred after 1 year to miami. We got her biometrics and fingerprinting done . We waited until they passed her case 2 times we contacted our congressmans office and he inquired and they begantomove on the case . Finaly after 2 years of waiting they sent a letter telling us to get fingerprints and interview 2 days after receiving the letter. We did go and they needed a copy of our daughters birth certificate and copy of check stubs. They provided a large yellow pre addressed envelope with the interviewing officers number on it soshe would get it and told us that we would have her green card within 6 weeks. We sent the packagesignature required and we got the card with the signature back. we waited about 8 weeks and heard nothing. we contacted our congressman again and he contacted them they said they are still waiting for the package. he informed them that he had a copy of the signed receipt they signed that showed they received the package. needless to say once he told them that they would not respond any more to his emails or calls. after that we contact the ombudsman office in dc and the inquired that day to the immigration office in miami. the very next day miami called the congressman 3 times that day and told him to have us fax the info to the congressman and the congressman fax it to the interviewing officers supervisor. And that the supervisor would handle the case from now on. and that we would have results about the 6th of july. they contacted the congressman this week and told him that the greencard was approved. now my question is this. My wife has a family member that is ill in vietnam but her passport is expired. And we will not have the green card according to miami for another 4 weeks because it is not printed in miami ( is this true) but need to travel to vietnam but will they let her go on a stamp or paper from immigration and a visa from the vietnam consulate in DC ( consulate only renews passports with a valid green card)
need to know.
thanks
james
