a second interview 1 year in advance

greetings to everyone on may 23 2006 my wife had her green card interview in garden city n.y , the officer ask a few question, took copies of some doucuments like joint bank, 3 years joint tax ,joint rent lease, joint utility bills, a picture, said we have an old file "he does not have it with him" then he said he will get back to us. then 2 months later on july 23 we received a letter stating "we must appear at 26 federal plaza on june 7 2007 at 8am. letter states "ask for any district adjudication officer, reason for appointment 1-130 application filed by spouse petitioner must be present''

p.s we did filed an application before may 2001 was cancelled in sept 2004 because we was really headed for a divorce, we tried hard stayed together we never filed any seperation or divorce papers by the way , i refiled a new set of papers in july 2005 got approved

is it fair to say a second interview in a year in advance is a sign the immigration officer or supervisor wants to see if we will stay together or something?

my lawyer says he believe because the officer never question about the old file "because he does not have it with him" this second interview must happen is this true?

we are not worried if it's a seperate interview we've been together since 1999 is just that a second interview 1 year in advance to me is crazy

I'm sorry to hear.............USCIS does in fact lose files though and I'm not sur ethere is anyhting you can do about it......reagrdless of what you suspect might b etheir motive.......there is anothe rpost in this section with the exact issue.........an interview scheduled one year in advance.......search for it and see if you can contact the person .........its around a month or two ago.
