I-485 pending 2.5 years because of CIA name check

My husband (a US citizen) and I had the interview at CIS Newark office in Feb. 2003,The interview went thru and the officer said she was waiting for my CIA name check to be cleared. So far we haven't got any decision. We have inquiried many times and no substance in the CIS' replies.
Anyone has similar experience with this mysterious CIA name check?
I did my second fingerprints without getting a reminder/request from the CIS. Now the second one is expiring, anyone knows that I need to do the 3rd fingerprints?

Try writing to your local Congressman that this is the problem and your processing has been delayed for so long, they normally will make a call to the appropriate office and things move pretty QUICK after that.
A friend of mine did it and within 2 weeks, they got it approved.
