  • I485 Adjustment of Status (Welcome Notice)

Hi to all the members and forum admin. Im in a K1 visa. Last June, we filed our adjustment of status and have done the biometrics. I checked the USCIS website and looked for the output of my case and here it goes:

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

    Current Status:

On September 7, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.

I have a quick question. What is that all about? Hope you guys can explain to me and give some info about it.

    Thank you and more power!

    congrats

its sound like you made it through.

My wife and I are in the same boat. My wife entered in a K1 status. I do have a couple of questions:

Did you file the I485 in June of 2006 or 2005?

Did they make you take the physical again?

    Was there an interview?

    Thanks.

you can email me directly at [email protected]

      Hello,

First, I had my physical and then we filed it last June, 2006. My case was transferred from MSC to CSC. We never been interviewed so far thats why i'm asking in the forum what its all about the notice i've got from the USCIS site coz i really dont know. And i hope this is it what were waiting for. How about you? By the way, goodluck to you also and thank you for the reply.

      Cheers! More Power...

        A little frustrated

My wife had her physical done in Manchester prior to the issuence of the k1 visa.

What is MCS vs. CSC. I am quite ignorant in all of this?

I am really frustrated by this nonsenesical process.

          Hi,

It's a service center...MSC stands for Missouri Service Center (MSC) or National Benefits Center (NBC) as what i've known. And CSC is California Service Center.
They sometimes transferred the case to different service center for shift work load or for no interview case purposes. Hope this helps. Ciao!

            how long?

            Hi,

How long from the time of the biometrics did it take to get the welcome letter?

            Thanks,

John & Annie (the loving Scottish Wife)

A friend of mine and myself were going through the exact same thing. He is about 3 weeks ahead of me since we both started our whole process together.
He had his interview about a month before mine.
He received the welcome letter about 2 weeks ago.
Thats a good sign for you because he then got his green card about 10 days after that.

              Good luck with it.

My wife and I had our interview about 8 days ago and they actually lost her pictures, i130 form (as she is the american) so we had to go get more pictures and fill out another form.
They requested more evidence to prove the legit of our marriage, so we went out and got more information and brought it back to them the same day.

I am hoping this is enough and we hear from them soon.
