    hello to everyone,

I am planning to marry a USC but i have some basic n stupid questions......
    1) can u submitt ur forms like I 485 without using a lawyer....is that a good idea??

    2) wat are the charges for a lawyer if u r living on east coast(I mean the min fee) and does that include ur application fees like I 485 n other forms that u r filing?

    3) Is it a must thing that ur spouse must have an earnings of about 125% above the poverty line.(I am really confused about this one).

    4) How early should u submitt the forms for AOS if ur I 94 is about to expire??

    5) n wat if ur I 94 has been lost n ur application for the replacement of I 94 is still pending with the USCIS......can u still apply without it.Also I have lost my passport n visa n i 94 while in US.......so will that effect my application???

    See below your questions

    1) can u submitt ur forms like I 485 without using a lawyer....is that a good idea?? There is nothing bad in submitting I-1485 without a lawyer, but AOS is many other forms and not just I-485

    2) wat are the charges for a lawyer if u r living on east coast(I mean the min fee) and does that include ur application fees like I 485 n other forms that u r filing? Usually attorney charges do NOT include application fees, and all lawyers have various charges

    3) Is it a must thing that ur spouse must have an earnings of about 125% above the poverty line.(I am really confused about this one). Yes that is a must thing, earnings are calculated according to a table that you can find on the internet. If your spouse does not meet this limit you have to get a co-sponsor

    4) How early should u submitt the forms for AOS if ur I 94 is about to expire?? You should submit AOS asap

    5) n wat if ur I 94 has been lost n ur application for the replacement of I 94 is still pending with the USCIS......can u still apply without it.Also I have lost my passport n visa n i 94 while in US.......so will that effect my application??? Yes, you have to have I-94 to prove that you entered the US legally without it, you will be refused a visa and will have to go through I-601 waiver process which will require you to go back to your country and is extremely difficult and lengthy
