  • Gc Interview

I went on my GC interview 5 wks ago, I didn't get a stamp, I wasn't ask to submit anymore documents.

I was just told by the interviewer that I would here from them within 30-90 days.

Has anyone had this same experience and what could be the possible outcome if they are taking this long.

The fact that you did noy get a stamp does not mean that you are not getting a green card, in fact more and more offices do not put the stamps anymore, since there can be easily forged

      GC interview

      Thanks for your reply.

I guess I am nervous because the interviewer ask my husband and I about 50 questions.
At the end of the interview when I ask her what is the next step, an investigation and to wait 30-90 days.

This Wednesday is going to be 6 weeks.

How come some people get approved on the spot and others have to wait so long for an answer?

I guess the thought of having to go on a second interview in 12 months time is disheartening as I was told that is the time factor for the 2 interview.

Can anyone give me some insight on this matter please

It makes no sense stressing about it. Its outside of your control right now.
whether or not some people get approved on the spot depends on so many factors.........the individual officer, whether your background check has been completed, how much documenation you had, the answers to the questions asked, just the way you and your spouse presented,...so many intangible nad subjective things come into play.

I undertand your concern about a second interview but its not a situation of either an approval on the spot OR a second interview. there is a middle ground. They may write you and request additional information before they make their decision. In my own case, I waited exactly 10 months between the interview date and getting the approval. 6 months after my interview I was asked to send additional and specific documentation. However, it was approved 2 weeks after I sent the info and I got the green card around 5 days later. Hopefully your wait will not be so long and it probably will not be.
I would suggest that you wait the 90 days and then write them aletter requesting an update.that will usually trigger some activity......believe it or not sometimes the file is just sitting on some lazy person's desk.
If your EAD ha snot yet expired, just continue working and living your life while you wait...........theres very little that the Gc will allow you to do that you cnat do right now so just relax and stop stressing about it
