    Hi guys, need your help.

My parents are here in VA living with us now. They are waiting for the
approval of I485, but they have to be out of the nation for family
reasons. If they just leave the nation right now without filing any forms
with the government, meaning they give up the greencard. Will this give them
trouble down the road, if they plan to come back to US in the future?
Can they apply vistor's visa later? or can they apply for the greencards again
    from outside of the US?

    Thanks a lot!

If they have filed I-485, then you can apply for AP (advance parole) so they can travel outside the 'nation' (US) and come back without any issue.

But AP takes a long time, even longer than I485 :-)
So it is pointless to file AP.

Any other way to do it?

AP does not take longer than I-485...it takes around 2 mopnths. If its a true emrgency, you can apply and get one in less time.

If they leave without AP, they have to start the process over again. Yes, it will affect them getting a visitors visa...........they would ahve to answer yes, to the question as to whther anyon ehas ever filed an immigrant petition on their behalf and that would indicate an immigrant intent, one of the blocks to getting avisitors visa

          Thanks so much
