Hello people. My I-485 is pending for last 16 months. Current status is H1B. Approved EAD/AP. Due to some personal problems I need to go back to India for couple of years. I don’t want to loose my GC after waiting for so long.

What are the possible options for me to keep this process going, while I am in India?

Unfortunately, it is too tough to maintain GC processing while you are out of US for longer times. Because, BCIS can send you REF for employment any time for which you should reply to them with latest pay stubs, employment letter from your employer here in US. If you fail to do so, BCIS would immediately deny AOS )I-485). So, you better talk to a good attorney before you chose to go.
