  • RE: drivers license for me and my wife

    Hi
I was reading a diff forum regarding i-485 interview process. One person noted that the immig officer wanted to see if he and his wife had a same address on their DLicenses... during their interview....
Our DL has diff address. should I go ahead and change it or wait?

We have known each other quite sometime (2yrs) and waited for the right time. Co-incidentally, my EAD is expiring this month so we decided to apply now...I really hope that that would not be seen as a suspicious.

    Would it???

    Thanks...

The DL is a crucial piece of evidence and the officer WILL ask both of you for it before anyhting else. Its to prove your identity as well as to see if you share the same address. What you DO NOT want to do is to wait to chnage your address on the DL, especially too close to the interview date.

      Need Help!

please, help. December 12, 2006, i and my husband (u.s. citizen) went to the interview on adjustment of status. The first thing that officer asked was our identification. Mark(my husband) showed his driver's license and I (looser) showed my id card on which i did not change my address. There was my first address when I came to the United States. On my driver's license was our previous address, not current. The officer asked us which our current address was. Mark told the one on his id, he also told that I did not change it yet.
Overall, interview went ok. she asked us general questions, briefly looked at our pictures. but she said that she was missing a translation of my birth certificate and a copy of our lease. She told us to send it to her, and then she would review our case and send us a written decision. she took my i-94. and that was it. We sent her papers the same day. Please, help. I do not know if that id was a great problem. did anybody had the same situation? please.
