hey guys i need some help ,i went on my interview today and the officer wrote something in my passport that says the alien # ,sec.254 nyc and 12/7/08 and he signed it.What does it mean please.

are you sure its 254..or is it 245?

well to properly answer you, one would have to know what else was said...
is it just 245 or 245 followed by another number or letter?

245 refers to S. 245 of the Immigration and Nationality ACt which is the section thats covers adjustment of status so it could mean simply that your application to adjust status was approved under S.245 at NY on 12/7/06. As to whether it could mean something else depends on what else happened.......
