Came on a student visa, and could not return to school last fall coz of money issues. Got married in september so technically i was out of status for a couple of weeks. I really do look like i got married for my green card, am i screwed?

If your marriage is bona fide and you can prove that you will not be denied

No you wont be denied just on that basis. But be careful about all the forms you fill and make sure that you meet every requirement. Just dont trust on your lawyer, try to find everything on your own.
