greencard & opt question!

Somewhat of a complicated question and wanted to know if anyone had any idea about this. i am in the process of completing my green card process. so i have had the fingerprints and photos done for my I-485 and I-765. however, the I-485 is pending right now, and the I-485 is directly tied to the I-765 so it is delaying my work authorization. I submitted another I-765 based on a qualifiying F1 student a while back as backup so i can start work if my greencard does not complete in time, and am now relying on that to start work. So here is my question:
Does anyone know if the I765 that i submitted based on the f1 status will also be directly tied to the I485 for my greencard? In other words, will that one also be on hold until the I485 is complete, or because they are two different areas are they dealt with separately? Any answers would really really help!

First of all it seems to me that you are confusing things a bit, although true that I-485 and I-765 are directly tied, meaning that you applied for work authorization (I-765) on the basis of the pending I-485 it does not mean that you need to have your I-485 approved before you get your work authorization. I do not think it is necessary for you to file for OPT based on your F1 since approval of that will take roughly the same time as approval of your I-765

You hav ewaste dthe money for the second I-765. They will only process one and Im surprise dthey didnt return your application for the second. As Yandressuk indicated, you get your I-765 approved way before the I-485
