Dear Friends,
I want to share some great news and some good luck related to green card processing . I hope my story gives you hope and cheers you up.
Although, I have double masters in engineering from top US universities my gc was filed as an EB-3 in March 2004. I was very frustrated last year and was even contemplating to move back to India (I still haven't received my labor approval from the original filing). Luckily, late last year (Dec of 2006) something very fortunate occured. My company decided to file for a labor substitution for me with pd of OCT 2000 and under EB-2 category.
They filed for I-140 on Jan 9th and it got approved in just 9 days. I received the approval note today and it simply made my day.
I have a question for the guru's more from an information point of view. I would like to know if I file for 485 will my case take the regular processing time, which is currently 6 months or will it be sooner since the pd is OCt 2000 (current pd for Indian citizens is Jan 2003).
I tried to look up for this information on the web but in vain.
Thanks,
