Haven't received I485 Receipt Notice

I have been waiting for a receipt notice on I-485 request more than 6 weeks. I have submitted the I-485 to a local office along with EAD and Advance Parole requests. My lawyer told me that it might take just 2-3 weeks but it seems taking a bit more time... Is it possible to find out what is going on the receipt notice of my request? Appreciate your help.

Normally INS/BCIS will mail the receipts anywhere between 1 week to 6 weeks. So, nothing to worry. You can also get the receipt number from the bank cheque (Backside of the cheque) if the cheque is encashed.

Can't find the receipt number...since

Thank you for your help, dvkrao. I am filing I-485 through my lawyer. I paid the amount for the application to the lawyer and then the lawyer made a check to the BCIS attached to the application. so I cannot track the transaction.... Do you know if it is possible to track how the application process is going and find out the receipt number with A#? Thanks.

You ask your lawyer whether the cheque paid on your behalf to BCIS is encahsed or not. If it is encashed then you can get the receipt number from the back of the cheque image. Normally, BCIS/INS will send the receipts to the lawyer. Not to the candidates. So, better to enquire the same from the lawyer's office. Still if they have not received then try to get the cheque details.

Thank you, dvkrao. I have been in touch with my lawyer but they have not found any transaction made yet. Perhaps, I just have to keep waiting...
