Adjustment status - after marriage with Permanent resident

Hi,
Please advise:
Iam presently in USA on B2 visa.If I get married to a permanent resident (GC holder), can i adjust status here or will i have to return back to my home country for consular processing.

only marriage to a US citizen ( which would make a visa number immediately available to you) would allow you to adjust here in the US.
