Hi everyone,
I got my H1B approved in Oct 2006. I still have to get it stamped. I have not left the country in 2 years. I have till Sept 2009 to get it stamped. My finace is an american citizen. We are going to get married in May 2008. I was thinking of making a trip to canada/mexico to get it stamped, but now that I have to plan a wedding here, I prefer saving the money and just waiting till we are married. I want to have a reception in India in Dec 2008, hence by then I would have applied for change of status....applying in may 08...travelling in dec 08.....
Is that a good thing to do....or should I consider something else?
Also can someone please tell me how much the fees for this process are as i know NOTHING about it...I came to this country on an F1 and only used a lawyer to get OPT and trasfer to H1B last year. So I am unaware of what I need to do, timefreams invovled etc, legal fees etc....someone please help!!!!!!
