  • I485 Processing Question---Please help

    Hi,

I am a US citizen and my husband is a Indian citizen. We applied for his I485 on April 2005. We had our interview on July 2005, but ever since then there seemed to be no activity. Upon checking with the USCIS office we found out his name has not been cleared by the FBI. However, when I checked his status online, it says his case has been transfered to the MO service center. Also, recently we received a letter requesting his FP. How do we know why they have asked for his FP again? Is it because his case is finally moving forward, or because his FP expired? Why was his case transfered to a different service center? Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks..

it could be both. as far as I know, fingerprints expire in 2 yrs i think. my friend from NY has had his interview in July 2004 but yet to get a decision. I myself had my interview yesterday in MN but no decision. You can write to USCIS for inquiry and allow min 30 days to get a response. If your case is MO office, that should be good as my case was there as well. but please note that background check can take a loong time...
my friend in NY is still awaiting pending background check.

    Good luck.
